Anybody like paying the ridiculously high prices of branded printer inks so it good to know there are cheaper alternatives available for HP ink cartridges as well many other brands of printer ink. These cartridges which are commonly known as compatible ink cartridges are not manufactured by the same companies who made the printer they are intend for use in, instead they are made by third party companies who have much lower overheads and can therefore offer an equivalent product for half the price in most cases. Compatible ink cartridges do not damage your printer in anyway despite this being the claim for the OEM printer manufacturer companies and they print just as many pages as the OEM ink cartridges, in some cases even more pages.  There are two types of compatible ink cartridges available depending on which make of inkjet printer you have, Epson printers use an ink tank cartridge which has the print head fixed on the printer and not on the cartridge. This means that the compatible can be made brand new very cheaply. HP, Lexmark and some canon printers use a cartridge which has the print head integrated into each cartridges and this makes it impossible for third party companies to produce new cartridges any cheaper than the OEM companies. Compatibles for these printers are as a result remanufactured OEM ink cartridges which are then re-packaged and re-branded.
